Study Psychology

At Ryburn Sixth

Studying Psychology at Ryburn Sixth can help you find out why you remember some things but not others, why some people obey authority, and others disobey, why we dream and what it all means, are all bonds the same in humans and animals , should we use drugs to treat mental illness, or something else?

Is our destiny predetermined? Or do we have some control over it? Are our minds like computers? And if so why can’t we build on it? Psychologists conduct research to answer these sorts of questions using scientific methods.

Psychologists have many different approaches to explaining behaviour such as; brain abnormality, learned behaviour, a faulty way of thinking and childhood experiences.

You will learn a variety of skills including analytical thinking, improved communication, problem solving and evaluation which can lead to a range of career paths in education, social work, business, sport, politics, health, criminology, law, research and many more.
