Welcome to Ryburn Sixth

What you should study and where is a really important decision. At Ryburn Sixth we nurture every student so you can be the very best you can be.

We have high attainment and great teaching - the overall quality indicator for teaching and results is very good to excellent. Every year, we send students to Russell Group universities, and our Ryburn Excel programme supports those students with top grades and ambitions to match.

With a choice of over 35 different subjects and our convenient location with direct buses from Halifax and trains from Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden and you can see why we have a 30% increase in numbers.

Ours is a friendly and nurturing environment, where we value all our students as individuals. Our teachers go the extra mile for you. Mentoring and support are always available, and our small class sizes mean that students get lots of individual support. Our dedicated pastoral and subject staff are committed to helping you, to ensure that you leave us with the best qualifications that you are capable of. We also want you to gain the skills and experiences that you will need to make you employable in the future.

We believe in education with ‘character’, providing our students with a vibrant range of enrichment activities, in order to develop your character, compassion and service. We want you to make some great memories and enjoy your time with us. It goes very fast! Take every opportunity you can to make new friends and involve yourself in all parts of sixth form life. We will support you towards your ultimate goals, and we will also expect the very highest standards from you.

A website can only tell you so much, and we’re always keen to hear from people who are interested in Ryburn Sixth, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a chat about your options, or if you have any questions.

- Miss Nicola Swindell, Head of Ryburn Sixth
