Choose Ryburn Sixth for your course in Performing Arts and be part of one of the most dynamic Creative Arts departments in West Yorkshire.

Our excellent teachers have industry experience of the Performing Arts and links with professionals including producers, directors and professional theatre companies. We have ongoing links with television companies and casting agencies. Our Drama students have appeared on Happy Valley and Ackley Bridge.

The course is delivered through individual Units all with industry based briefs. These include creating Community drama, working with masks and puppetry, exploring and performing in a variety of acting styles and acting for film and television to name just a few of the areas you will cover. This course will increase your ability to analyse, create, collaborate and perform a variety of styles and in a variety of performance areas, giving you the best chance to be ready for the next stage of your journey, whether into a job or studying in higher education. You will be given opportunities that will improve your skills and give you an amazing, practical insight into the profession.

Our students benefit from lots of opportunities to perform in a range of venues and locations, including trips abroad. They can be involved in our Acting Academy, staging plays and running workshops. Not forgetting the chance to star in our large scale musical theatre productions staged in school. We have outstanding resources on offer, including four performance spaces, sophisticated lighting and sound equipment and fantastic technical support.

What will I study?

Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts: Acting.
This course is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels which means you can achieve 84 UCAS tariff points instead of 56 for one A Level
