Ryburn Excel

Enabling our students to shine at Oxford, Cambridge and the very best universities.

At Ryburn Sixth, we offer a fantastic range of opportunities and encouragement in an academic and caring environment. Our Ryburn Excel programme is especially for our most able and ambitious students, selected according to aptitude and GCSE grades.

You’ll have access to specialised support and find out about opportunities that will help you achieve your future goals. And if you ever doubt yourself, you’ll find that getting to know other students at your level encourages you to believe in your own abilities too. Set no limits on what you can achieve.

Ryburn Excel programme has been brilliant. I’ve found out about so many great opportunities that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise, like a work experience programme with the major trauma centre at Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I want to study medicine and become a paramedic, so it’s amazing to get to work with doctors and consultants. I’ve loved it.

Ryburn Sixth gave me so many opportunities including trips to Cambridge and Manchester universities. These days allowed me to experience what it would be like to attend one of these prestigious universities for myself and were invaluable as they helped me to finalise my decisions on which universities to apply for.

As a result of the teachers consistently pushing me to my limits, with the addition of my own hard work, I managed to get some outstanding A-Level results and to study at a university of my choice.

Extended Project Qualification

The EPQ is a fantastic preparation for university study, helping you develop many of the skills you will need to succeed. It is worth up to 28 UCAS points, and universities love it.
