MILLIE
Hello Ryburn! This is Millie with your sixth form soundtrack, kicking off our virtual open evening 2020. So what’s it like being a student at Ryburn Sixth?

RAVI
Well, we’re not a cog in a big machine. We have fantastic teachers, delivering great learning in relatively small classes. For us that's great because it means that there's no room for anybody to drift off at the back of the class.

BIBI
Yeah I really agree with that. We're also really inspired to have a passion for our subjects and always encouraged to be curious and ask the big questions. To work really hard -

RAVI
We do, they certainly work us really hard!

BIBI
And never settle for second best.

MILLIE
It's about being the best you can be, discovering what you're capable of and opening your eyes to opportunities.

RAVI
Absolutely, I fully agree. It can be anything from an expedition across South Africa to simply just putting on a show. It's our experiences that make us who we are.

BIBI
Definitely.

I think what Ryburn Sixth is really good at is connecting what we do here with what's happening in the real world. Ryburn Sixth students achieve great results and have really bright futures so you'll definitely find us in the top jobs, top universities. You'll find some of us working locally still and even around the world. You'll always find a Ryburn Sixth student standing up for what's right and, you know, striving to make a difference.

MILLIE
Is that what it's all about?

RAVI
Well no, relationships are really important here too. The success that we've just talked about comes from us working together as one big team. You really get to know your teachers who understand you and will go that extra mile to support you which is brilliant.

BIBI
Absolutely. Here you'll find staff who know how to motivate you without adding the extra stress. Because they're real people too so they really understand that our social life matters as well. So you've got to relax and you can have a laugh and work smart. Get the right mix - it’s kind of a cringey phrase - but like a recipe for success.

MILLIE
Now here in the heart of Calderdale it's a pretty stunning and convenient location to study or take a breather.

BIBI
We're so lucky to go to college in these beautiful surroundings.

RAVI
We really are. Being a student at Ryburn Sixth is about who you are, not just what you do. You'll have friends that will make so many amazing memories with you, that will just last your lifetime.

BIBI
I think definitely choose somewhere that will help you grow and give you the confidence to soar.

MILLIE
What do you mean?

BIBI
Well, give you roots from which to grow and wings that can that give you confidence to go above and beyond, like fly almost. It’s another of my cringey phrases, but you could definitely say Ryburn Sixth gives you those roots and wings.

MILLIE
